Texas Tech just announced a "clear bag" policy for football games. It got me to thinking, why can't properly licensed gun holders take their guns to games?

It's "Guns Up" as long as it's your fingers, but you can't get real at a Texas Tech game.

How is it that Raider Red is allowed to be armed, but Red Raiders aren't? Could it be that officials are concerned that the game or some of it's patrons could get heated and do something stupid? The fact is that Texas as a state bans weapons at sporting events.

Now, I'm not anti-gun, but there's just a pile of hypocritical nonsense here. If you can't take it to a sports stadium because you might get pissed, how come you can take it in your car where you're almost certainly going to get pissed?  More importantly why is there a boycott database of businesses who say no guns, but not a boycott on college sports stadiums (the NFL actually did make the boycott list)? I simply don't understand why handgun owners don't boycott Texas for having this law against guns in stadiums, but instead boycott theaters and wing restaurants.

It seems to me that the list of place where it's considered "safe" to carry a gun, is almost completely arbitrary. I'll admit that I don't have any answers, but I think gun owners and non-owners alike should ask more questions. These laws are so arbitrary it's almost like they're put into effect just to divide us.
