In possibly one of the most exciting finishes of the year, Matt Kenseth escaped Talladega with a win and a slight gain in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

Jeff Gordon also dodged the "Big One" on the last lap, which happened during a Green-White-Checkered finish, to take second behind Matt Kenseth.

The new Sprint Cup standings still have Brad Keselowski as the leader, holding Jimmie Johnson back by 14 points. Jeff Gordon jumped up to sixth place in the standings, or 42 points behind, with six races to go.
