When you think about it, it's really odd that people will lose a friendship over something said on social media. I guess we all tend to be friends with people who think alike, but it's not like those with opposing views are going to do anything.

So what are you "not going to do?"  Well, you can take any given topic that people will fight over and that is the complete extent of the level of their commitment; they will post on social media over it.  That's it. They won't sign a petition, hold a sign on a corner, boycott a place, or even vote for change.  They'll claim that they'll fight for their way of life, but we all know that's the way the Facebook warrior. There is no sudden influx of folks at the recruiting centers and there's no one complaining about political campaigns having too many volunteers.

Let's take for instance a popular topic. Right now people are again trying to divert attention away from Syrian refugees be saying "our homeless vets should come first" (something I addressed before). They post the memes, write the responses on Facebook and are truly disgusted that we would even consider helping someone else first. Well, what do you think would happen if we started a Gofundme for homeless vets and posted it on their walls? Anybody want to bet me that it would be ignored? You see people love to complain, but they don't want to actually do anything.  What they actually do is just muck up the works (which may be their intended goal).

I'd encourage you and yours to back your stuff up. If only a small amount of people actually worked for the change they say they would, the world would be an entirely different place.  My guess is though, the people who stir the pot are  nothing more than loudmouths and Facebook warriors.
