Author and visual storyteller Max Brooks, son of legendary director/writer/producer Mel Brooks, will visit the Texas Tech campus next Wednesday supporting his new graphic novel The Harlem Hellfighters.

The new graphic novel, released April 1, is a fictionalized account of the real-world World War I 369th Infantry Regiment comprised of all African American soldiers.

Brooks is most well-known for his books The Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z, of which the latter was the basis of the recent Brad Pitt film.

Brooks will first meet with College of Media and Communication Students before giving a public lecture at the Texas Tech Law School’s Lanier Auditorium beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22.
