This was a busy year for scams. Grandparents, fake free donuts, calls from fake IRS agents. Makes you wonder what 2018 is looking like.

And with the holidays approaching, with scams of their own, I thought it would be a good idea to go back and review the top 3 baddies of the year. (You can click on the buttons to read the full stories.)

This one is annoying, someone calls you pretending to be a process server needing to verify information with you. It doesn't work that way.

Don't you love it when you see a coupon on Facebook or a website saying you get a free *insert item(s)* here for no reason at all? Well, Dunkin Donuts fell victim to this one, seeing isn't always believing.

This was the most disgusting scam of the year. A Lubbock woman was using the Las Vegas shooting tragedy in order to gain sympathy to get money. Not to mention the harassment she was causing.

Remember folks, if it looks or sounds too good to be true, it probably is, don't answer your phone for strange people, and PT Barnum said it best: "There is a sucker born every minute!" Don't get caught up in the scams!

We will keep up updated in 2018 with all the new twists that are sure to come out!
