The first half of my musical year was all about Marilyn Manson's album "The Pale Emperor". The album is an absolute masterpiece, I just think that some people have grown tired of Manson's schtick, and not realized that this latest album is a whole new thing.  As the Manson album waned, I moved onto the new one from We Are Harlot, which is insanely good and should be getting better support from the record company.  I think at this point, unless Tool or the Chili Peps drop an awesome new one, that last half of this year will be about the album "Meliora" by Ghost.

Ghost is a Swedish band, know for their "Nameless Ghouls" and skeleton faced Pope frontman. The new album actually brings the arrival of their third singer, known as Papa Emeritus III.

The album Meliora mixes instrumentals, monster riffs and an awesome vocal performance by Papa Emeritus.  This entire album, the way it's put together and it's themes are ground that has been tread by Ozzy Osbourne and Marilyn Manson.  Ozzy went at these themes as a lunatic, Manson as a creepy outcast. Papa Emeritus sings with a patience and confidence that the evil he sings about is an accepted fact. It's a cool approach.

The track "Cirice" (Seer-is) is currently blowing up on radio. My choice for the follow up track is "Deus In Absentia".

The lip synching in this video is terrible, but it gives you a great idea about the bands image. Check it out. It's the current single, but the extended version of the song "Cirice".
