Add to your calendar another holiday favorite in Lubbock. On Friday, December 7th and Saturday December 8th, the National Ranching Heritage Center will host the 40th Annual Candlelight at the Ranch.

The event recreates frontier holidays spanning the time periods of 1780 to 1950. According to the Facebook event page, more than 4,000 luminaries will light the paths of the park. Volunteers will be in period clothing to recreate Christmas scenes from past eras.

Candlelight at the Ranch begins Friday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and closes each night at 9 p.m. Parking can be hard to come by, so arrive early and get ready to walk. It is free to get in, but the center is asking for $5 donations.

Get more information on the event's Facebook page.
