Aaron Lewis Dedicates Staind’s ‘Something to Remind You’ to Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington
The death of Linkin Park's Chester Bennington hit many hard, including Staind vocalist Aaron Lewis. Though Lewis is primarily focusing on his solo country career at the moment, he broke out one of Staind's more emotional tracks that really made an impact during his set Thursday night (July 20) at the Hampton Beach Casino in New Hampshire.
“So I lost a really good friend today," started Lewis during the introduction of "Something to Remind You." "I’m not really sure why he chose to take his own life, but it’s been a really sad day. So this next song is for Chester."
The singer then proceeded to play the song on his well weathered acoustic guitar with no backing, as the emotion could clearly be heard in his voice. It was clear that Lewis was zoned in, especially as he paused just prior to the end of the track. As the stage lights kept him backlit after the performance, Lewis raised a cup, took a drink, then poured out a bit of the liquid for Bennington.
