Hip New Lubbock Bar Plans Grand Opening on Thanksgiving Day
A brand-new Lubbock bar, The Soggy Dog, is finally set to open their doors to the public on Thanksgiving Day. It sounds like the perfect excuse to escape your obnoxious in-laws and end the stressful holiday with a nightcap.
According to EverythingLubbock, The Soggy Dog will have games, an LED wall TV, and a cool speakeasy inspired by The Shining. The new bar also plans to have several performers break in the stage in celebration of the grand opening with live music.
The Soggy Dog was supposed to open last August but was met with a few snags in the road and red tape from the TABC due to an investigation with the previous building tenants. They took the building over from Office Grill & Sports Bar, which was shut down roughly 7 months ago after many complaints that it was an "unsafe environment."
I have a feeling that the guys behind The Soggy Dog are not only going to do that building justice but that it will also become a major staple in the 806. I've been looking forward to it for a while, and I can't wait to get in there and check it out. My coworkers and I are planning to check it out after we finish stuffing our faces with turkey. Stoked.
You can find more information on their Facebook page here, or check it out for yourself in person at 5004 Frankford Ave. Suite 900. I'll see ya there!
