Fall Fever: Is it Too Early to Start Decorating in Texas?
The Texas summer has been going on for far too long at this point, and most of us are ready for fall to finally arrive.
Not only is fall one of the coziest times of the year with Halloween, Thanksgiving, pumpkin spice, campfires, sweaters, fuzzy blankets, and so much more, but it means that the weather will finally be cooling down.
There is something so special about the crisp fall air mingling with the remnants of summer’s heat. As a friend of mine says, it’s when “summer kisses fall.”
The problem is that we are nowhere near the cool air hitting Texas, and we still have the hottest month of the year to get through before fall actually arrives. Despite that, many of us are ready for fall and would love to simply skip ahead to September.
The question is: Is it too early to decorate for fall?
Technically, you can decorate your home however you want whenever you want, but that is beside the point.
I personally think that once the fall fever hits and you have the urge to decorate, then you should. Especially once stores are flooded with fall décor, which is usually just after the 4th of July.
The only problem is if you are like me and love to decorate with real pumpkins.
Not only is it too hot to have a pumpkin sitting on your front porch bound to rot in the sun, but they aren’t available in most stores yet. Although, just because there aren’t any pumpkins out yet doesn’t mean you have to wait to put out the rest of your décor.
Overall, I think you should do what makes you happy. If that is decorating now, then do it. If it means waiting until fall officially starts on the calendar, then do that. Do whatever makes your fall heart happy!
