West Texas Hidden Gem: Prairie Blossom Marketplace
Nothing is quite as cozy as heading to a local market to shop for produce or handmade goods, and chatting with vendors about what they are selling. West Texas is full of a great variety of markets, especially here in the Lubbock area.
We have two main farmers markets in Lubbock that people typically visit. The Wolfforth Farmers Market happens every Saturday throughout the whole year and the Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market happens during the warmer months.
We also have a variety of other markets that happen around the Hub City like Junk Fest, the Idalou Farmers Market, the Lubbock Flea Market, and more.
One market that I think is a bit of a hidden gem, and deserves more love, is the Prairie Blossom Marketplace in Wolfforth.
Located at 130th St & FM 179, this market is open every 1st and 3rd weekend from March through December on both Saturday and Sunday. It is made up of a variety of small buildings that have different vendors inside. So, it is an outdoor market that includes indoor shopping.
They have everything from fresh produce, eggs, jams, jerky, jewelry, handcrafted items, pet supplies, and much more.
The vendors are all very kind and you can tell everything there is made with love.
The market is free to enter, has free parking, and is pet friendly. They are open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sundays. There is also a full schedule for the 2024 season available on their official website.
