It’s that time of year again, neighbors! The air has a 'crispness' to it, Christmas music is playing in some stores around town already, and if you’re anything like me, you’re already itching to get your hands on a live Christmas tree to bring a little holiday spirit into your home. If you're in Lubbock or around West Texas, you're in luck—there are plenty of spots to grab the perfect tree!

Right here in Lubbock, we’ve got some local favorites that never disappoint!

Tom's Tree Place, right on 34th Street and Slide, is my first choice since they're locally owned and operated. They’ve been a staple in Lubbock for years and they know their trees! Plus, the staff is super knowledgeable, so they’ll make sure you leave with a tree that’s going to last through the season and maybe even give you some tips to keep it looking fresh.

If you're hitting up the big box stores, Lowe’s on West Loop 289 has a nice selection of live trees every year, perfect if you’re looking for convenience. Plus, The Home Depot on 50th Street has a good variety, and you can grab your Christmas lights, ornaments, and maybe even a new ladder all in one trip. Nothing like knocking out that holiday shopping list in one go, am I right?

And don’t forget another locally owned store--Ace Hardware! They actually have three locations to choose from. You’ll find quality trees there, and, shopping local never goes out of style.

For those of you outside Lubbock or in the greater West Texas area, keep an eye on nearby Lowe’s and Home Depot stores—they usually have a solid stock of fresh trees. And let’s be real, you GOTTA go with a live tree. Nothing beats the pine smell of a live tree in your living room at Christmastime!

All this live Christmas tree talk has me thinking of the Griswold family and their 'fun, old-fashioned family Christmas'...

So grab your family, maybe a cup of hot cocoa, load up the family truckster, and make picking out a Christmas tree part of your holiday tradition. Happy hunting, West Texans!
