I was scrolling through Facebook and came across my good friend Larry Simmons' post about a fundraiser he's hosting this Saturday at Tornado Industrial Arts (formerly Tornado Gallery).

Larry does a lot of good for the city of Lubbock and this is a great example of that!
Here's what he said about the event:
Hello art supporters!
A couple of notes concerning the Fund The FFAT fundraiser on Saturday the 3rd of August. This event is at Tornado Industrial Arts, 1824 Buddy Holly, formerly Tornado Gallery. Folks it’s going to be warm outside, please bring a hat and a chair if you can. We’ll have refreshments and water available, but you are also welcome to BYOB for this event.
This is a free event but we’ll have a donation jar at the front door. Donations will also be accepted for any refreshments you may partake in.
Wade Parks and band will be performing that evening, since the days of Tornado Gallery, Wade has been our “house band”, excellent musicians and just a ton of fun.
As some additional fundraising excitement, there will be a raffle taking place. Not the standard silent auction but a real raffle. Tickets will be sold at a moderate price, and you can stuff the jar for what items suit your fancy. That all being said, if you’d care to donate any items, art, household, collectibles, anything that will bring a buck, please bring them down to me. You can even bring them in on Saturday! I myself will be adding a 1940s cocktail shaker to the raffle table! All proceeds will go to the FFAT at LHUCA.
Bring food if you’d like, working on a food truck also.
This is an opportunity to show the powers that be how important the FFAT is to the image, culture, and cohesiveness of our community.
Be a part of this event and keep it continuing in the future..
