A Lubbock Man Fears For His Life At Work, Are The Dallas Cowboys To Blame?
Let me start by saying that I LOVE Texas. The Barbecue, the wide open spaces, George Strait,....yeah, all of it. Well, maybe not ALL of it, because this one thing about Texas that I'm not a fan of, is going to cause serious issues at work this week.
I HATE the Dallas Cowboys.
I said it.
I have never liked the Cowboys. Never will. I have my reasons. So, let me add a little explanation as to why my rational thinking is turning into an irrational fear.
Ich bin ein 49ers-Fan
I grew up in Northern California during the pre-poopstained sidewalk era of long ago, so my love for the red and gold dates back to the days of Joe Montana and Jerry Rice and the horrible field conditions of Candlestick Park. And a moment in time that Cowboys fans have burned into their brains forever.
Sorry. I know that hurts.
But, as I wade through the ups and downs of being a Niner fan, when we have these moments of success with 4th string quarterbacks, you have to show your pride, u7nless you are a pilgrim in an unforgiving land. Like...West Texas.
I share an office with several rabid Cowboys fans, and fear that one of them could get hostile or ugly, especially after the beatdown that is coming this weekend at the hands of Mr. Irrelevant and The People's Champion (Brock Purdy and George Kittle for the uninformed). So, my concern is that I should keep my head down, and maybe hide my 49er gear for a week.
Mmmmmm, NAHHH!
I'm a wearin' this bad boy every day this week.
I even brought that love to Jerry World.
Well, yeah. Maybe I AM asking for it just a little bit.
But, if the Cowboys win in San Francisco this weekend, I will accept the loss and move on. If the Cowboys lose, however, I'm probably going to have to go into witness protection.
Besides, don't people like the CHIEFS more than the Cowboys around here?
