The man, 23-year-old Daniel Brandon Sayas-Carrasco, was charged with felony possession of marijuana, but the story gets better. You see, Sayas-Carrasco is a known member of the Valluco gang.

The Vallucos are a part of a larger criminal organization called "Tangos" or "Puro Tangos" which operate in different sects across Texas and are comprised mostly of incarcerated Hispanic inmates.

Other Drug-Related Arrests Along Texas-Mexico Border

This wasn't even the latest drug bust along the border. In fact, on June 3, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seized a whopping 363 pounds of cocaine at the Laredo Port of Entry. The estimated street value of such a haul? $4.8M.

Then, just one day before that, CBP seized over 40 pounds of the white powder from a 21-year-old man at the Ysleta Port of Entry. Certainly less than 363 pounds, but it further emphasizes the reality that this is what border agents deal with nearly every day.
