Layne’s Chicken Fingers Plans Massive Expansion in Texas, Including Lubbock Locations

The Chicken Finger war is about to heat up again across Texas and that includes right here in Lubbock. The chicken business is booming right now and chicken finger businesses seem to be really taking off. And now a College Station favorite is about to spread it's wings... or fingers across Texas.

Layne's Chicken Fingers Plans Expansion Across Texas

Texas A&M students are already fans of Layne's Chicken Fingers. Layne's opened in College Station in 1994. Previous ownership was never interested in expansion, but Garrett Reed, who purchased Layne's along with his partner in 2023 has been slowly expanding the business according to Chron.com. There are more than 30 locations nation-wide right now and soon, it will be much more.

According to Chron.com, Layne's Chicken Fingers will be opening 44 locations across Texas. That includes San Antonio, South Texas, and West Texas.

Layne's Chicken Fingers to Open Lubbock Locations

We started hearing talk of Layne's Chicken Fingers expanding to Lubbock in 2022 and 2023. According to KAMC, Layne's Chicken Fingers plans to open at least two Lubbock locations and possibly a third location.

The locations are supposed to open in 2026 and no locations have been given yet.

The chicken finger wars will be heating up in Lubbock, but I don't know of anyone complaining. Lubbock seems to like the chicken competition.
