About a week ago the City of Lubbock warned citizens that the emergency sirens may go off due to high winds and severe weather. Fortunately, the sirens did not go off. But today, on June 14, they will.

The City of Lubbock issued a press release on Thursday warning citizens that a test of the Outdoor Warning System would be happening. So don't freak out if you hear the sirens going off.

According to the City of Lubbock, the test will happens at about 9:30am and will last for 3 minutes.

The City of Lubbock tests the Outdoor Warning System every second Friday of the month. If there is a 10% or greater chance for a thunderstorm, the test gets canceled.
