When watching Hurricanes and Tropical Storms, a lot can change pretty quickly. Just two days ago projections had Hurricane Beryl making landfall near the Texas/ Mexico border. Well thats not going to happen. Beryl has shifted to the north and will now strike somewhere along the Gulf Coast.

As Of Sunday, July 7th at 9:00 am, where and when will Hurricane Beryl Hit Texas?

According to NOAA, Tropical Storm Beryl is expected to strengthen into at least a category 1 Hurricane before making landfall either late tonight or early Monday morning. Some areas have already seen the outer rain bands of Beryl and Tropical Storm force winds are expected to arrive this evening. A Hurricane Warning is now in effect from Baffin Bay to San Luis Pass according to NOAA.

It's still too far out to say where exactly Beryl will make landfall, though some forecasters are warning that Matagorda Bay could be close to where Beryl will make landfall. Storm surge is expected across the Texas coast.

As you can see above, forecasters are eyeing 3-5 foot storm surges in Corpus Christi and Galveston while Matagorda Bay could see a storm surge of 4-6 feet.

While Beryl will bring Tropical Storm to Hurricane force winds to the Texas Gulf Coast, rain along with flooding and storm surge will be the main concern as will tornadoes that could spin off from Beryl.
