The 12 Wild ‘Seasons’ Only Texans Truly Understand
The weather in Texas is absolutely maddening, and a lot of the time it seems to depend on what part of the state you live in. Severe weather, snow, tornadoes, and much of that depends on the region you're in.
For example, the Texas Panhandle has a tendency to get the extreme of everything. Rain, snow, severe weather. However, the further south you head, the snow is non-existent for the most part, and even the winter temps are warmer.
Four Seasons, Twelve Months Right?
Yeah, not so much. That's the beauty...and frustration with Texas and the seasons. You never really end up on the same calendar as other states when it comes to the seasonal changes.
Sure, January is cold everywhere except Florida and Arizona, it seems. All of a sudden, February comes and we start to heat up a bit here in Texas...but that's where it ends.
We Have Twelve Seasons, Not Months
If you've lived in Texas long enough, you're well conditioned to this...but it still irritates you to no end. Each month is a different season, and it never seems to follow the norms when it comes to that.
It can feel like winter in March or summer in November. This is a real thing, not something made up. Don't believe me? Go look up the historical data of Texas weather. I promise you, you'll agree with what you're about to see.
So, without further ado, I present to you the twelve seasons of Texas. I dare you to disagree.
