Recent Traffic Stop In Texas Reveals 2 Million Dollars Worth Of Cocaine

Newly reported data from Operation Lone Star border security initiative about a cocaine bust in Texas has been revealed. Here's what is known at the time of writing.

Texas DPS Reports On The Recent Bust

As per Border Report, the incident occurred on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024. In the town of Weslaco, Texas, troopers with the Texas Department Of Public Safety pulled a truck over. When troopers examined the cargo instead the vehicle, they discovered something truly shocking.

DPS reports that they "discovered 90 cellophane-wrapped bundles of cocaine concealed inside a pallet of dried goods in the cargo area.” In total, all of the cocaine found weighed 216 pounds, or 98 kilos. After the discovery, three individuals were taken into custody. Christian Martinez Caudillo, Francisco Marquez-Carretero, and Tania Rodriguez-Hernandez were taken into custody.

The three man arrested, who were revealed to be from Mission, Texas, were taken to the Hidalgo County Jail. At the time of writing, they are facing the charges of manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance.

In addition the drugs found, the Criminal Investigations Division from DPS made their way to McAllen, Texas. What was found was reported to be three AR-15 rifles as well as an AK-47. The cocaine that was was found reportedly was $2 million dollars. which was the alleged street value of the drug.
