When people think of Texas, they often think of Whataburger, cowboy hats and ranches! Which isn't entirely wrong; Texas has some beautiful ranches- in fact, the largest ranch in the country is right here in the Lone Star state!  But Texas is so much more than ranches and Whataburger; it's so big that everyday, new neighborhoods are popping up- so much so that Californians- and other non-Texans- are flocking to the state in droves.

When it comes to moving trends, Texas isn’t just on the map- it’s leading the way. Six Lone Star State ZIP codes cracked the nation’s top ten most moved-to areas in 2025, according to new data from MovingPlace.com. That means more than half of the hottest ZIP codes in America are in Texas.

The Hottest Zip Codes in Texas

At the top of the list is Cypress, TX (77433), a booming suburb outside of Houston that saw more than 3,600 inbound moves this year. With newer homes, strong schools, and easy access to the energy capital of the world, Cypress has become a magnet for families and young professionals alike.

Texas Fills the Rankings

But Cypress isn’t alone. Texas all but owns the top ten list, filling six spots in total. Coming in at No. 2 is New Braunfels (78130), a Hill Country gem that blends small-town charm with rapid growth, pulling in more than 3,400 new movers.

Not far behind is Leander (78641), landing at No. 4 with over 3,300 inbound moves.
At No. 5 sits Katy (77493), another Houston suburb that welcomed more than 3,200 movers in 2025.

Further north, McKinney (75071) joins the list at No. 8, with nearly 2,900 new residents flocking to the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

And rounding out the top ten is San Antonio’s 78253 ZIP code, which brought in just under 2,900 movers.

The fact that six Texas ZIP codes cracked the nation’s top ten is no coincidence. Each one highlights the same growing trend: Americans are chasing space, affordability, and opportunity and finding it on the edges of major metro areas.

While the Sunbelt as a whole is dominating migration trends- with Texas, Florida, and Arizona claiming nine of the top ten ZIP codes- Texas stands out as the clear winner. From Houston’s booming suburbs to the Hill Country and the Dallas-Fort Worth sprawl, the Lone Star State has become the ultimate destination for movers in 2025.
