Linkin Park tweeted out a message today (Aug. 22), thanking fans "around the world for the tremendous outpouring of love, which has strengthened our spirit during this incredibly difficult time" following the death of singer Chester Bennington. The message, signed by bassist David "Phoenix" Farrell and the rest of Linkin Park, also noted, "We are working on a special public event in Los Angeles to honor Chester's memory, and look forward to sharing details with you soon."

It's unknown whether its similar to one of the fan-thrown memorials for Bennington or a different event altogether. Either way, it's sure to be a can't miss tribute to Bennington, and a way for the band and fans to come together publicly.

Recently, rapper Jay-Z paid tribute to Bennington with performances of their collaborative track "Numb / Encore" during his two sets at England's V Festival. “Can you guys light it up tonight for Chester?” he asked the fans. “Please make some noise so he can hear you all the way in heaven tonight!”
