Check it out, all Lubbock high schools usually host firework stands in the summer as a way to raise money for their cross country and track programs, obviously that was not possible this year due to the drought and the ban on all fireworks. In order to raise some money they are holding a 5K run/walk (in conjunction with Women's Protective Services) Check out the details and plan on attending this very worth while event Saturday August 20.

All L.I.S.D. high school cross country and track teams will be partnering up with Women's Protective Services for a "Back to School 5K Bash".

The public is invited to this 5K run/walk. Cost is $25 for adults/$2 for children. All participants and spectators are to bring one item off of the following WPS Wish list to the event:
Blankets, comfortors, sheets, pillows, female hygiene products, diapers, baby wipes, toilet paper, paper towels, kleene, laundry supplies, cleaning supplies, laundry baskets, safety pins, sewing kits, basic toiletry items.
