Lubbock’s Fourth of July Celebration Is Bigger Than Ever
This year's 4th of July is bigger than ever! The big news of the day here in Lubbock is of course the 27th annual 4th on Broadway at Mackenzie Park.
According to the event website, this four-day event rolls out in a big way beginning July 1st and culminates with a tremendous lineup of activities on the 4th of July.
The 4th of July kicks off with the Yankee Doodle Dash at 7:30 a.m., with a 5K and 1-mile run that follows the parade route.
The Sonic Parade gets underway at 9 a.m. celebrating the 'Friendliest City In America': Lubbock.
A fishing tournament and classic car show roll out from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
The evening is highlighted with a full symphony concert at 7 p.m., followed by a fireworks spectacular.
New features this year include two major outdoor stages. Artists set to perform have yet to be announced.
