A Lubbock man has been sentenced to 99 years behind bars for an incident that occurred two years ago.

According to a police report, in September 2017, officers were called to a Lubbock residence for a man making violent threats. When officers arrived, an SUV pulled out of the driveway and led police on a car chase.

Police say the driver, later identified as Thomas Caudill, fired multiple shots at police during the chase before stalling out near 78th Street and Flint Avenue. Caudill fled the scene on foot, leaving a woman and two kids inside the SUV.

He was later caught with the help of an LPD K9 unit and charged with multiple crimes, including aggravated assault on a public servant, evading arrest, unlawful possession of a firearm, abandoning and endangering a child, and an outstanding felony warrant for a parole violation.
