Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn has posted a lengthy video calling out Philip Anselmo for shouting out "White power" and throwing up a Nazi salute during Dimebash 2016. Anselmo chalked up the incident to an inside joke about drinking white wine at the gig, but Flynn professes there was "not a chardonnay or a pinot grigio in sight backstage."

Flynn has a penchant for longform expression, as you can check out in many of Robb's 'General Journals' he regularly posts on Machine Head's Facebook page. In his usual uncensored and unapologetic tone, Flynn let Phil Anselmo have it in a video post entitled "Racism in Metal."

Robb Flynn was at Dimebash 2016 to perform alongside a host of talented musicians and pay tribute to late Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell. Flynn claims there was no white wine backstage, tossing out Anselmo's "inside joke" defense. "The only thing you were drinking, Phil Anselmo, was Beck's German beer. Maybe that's where the joke came from, huh?"

A photo of Anselmo drinking white wine backstage at Dimebash was sent to MetalSucks. You can see Phil sitting with Dimebag Darrell's widow, Rita Haney. Of course, this doesn't change the seriousness of Anselmo's actions or Flynn's comments.

"Only in the metal community is something like this so, so brushed off," Flynn says. "If this was Chad from Nickelback, if this was Justin Bieber, if this was Tom Brady, if this was Lars f---ing Ulrich… heads would roll."

Flynn recalls running into Anselmo backstage at Dimebash and dealing with another racially charged comment. "Within 30 seconds of sitting down and talking to him, his drunk ass decided to let me know in no uncertain terms that he hated the 'nig-er' era of Machine Head, referring to our third and fourth album, The Burning Red."

Robb Flynn continues to speak about how Anselmo was sieg heil-ing and mouthing "White power" while Flynn was performing "A New Level" at Dimebash, pointing out how Anselmo has done that "forever now." Robb also questions why Anselmo has never been called out by any other band about his actions, putting forth many theories.
