Major Frozen Waffle Recall: Many Brands Sold In Texas Could Make You Sick
According to the FDA, many brands of frozen waffles sold throughout the U.S., Canada, and Texas have been recalled for possible Listeria contamination.
Listeria can be deadly for elderly or medically frail people. It can also cause miscarriages in pregnant people.
Even for healthy folks, Listeria can be deeply unpleasant, with symptoms ranging from fever, headache, nausea, diarrhea, etc.
Some of the brands included in the recall include major store brands here in Texas like:
• various flavors of Great Value waffles (sold at Wal-Mart stores)
• Clover Valley (sold at Dollar General stores)
• various flavors of Good & Gather (sold at Target stores)
• various flavors of Best Choice (sold at many grocery stores)
Some other waffle brands sold in Texas that are subject to the recall include H-E-B Higher Harvest, Kodiak Cakes (sold in many grocery stores, pharmacies, and convenience stores), and more.

The Best By dates range from late this year to early/ mid 2025. With the wide range of the recall, I would recommend checking any frozen waffles against the recall list, just to be safe.
You can find the entire list of waffle brands with corresponding lots and Best By dates here.
Luckily, there have so far been no reported illnesses with this voluntary recall. The possible Listeria contamination was discovered during a routine inspection of the facility where the waffles are made.
