Motorist Killed in Accident in Southwest Lubbock County

One motorist was killed Tuesday afternoon in an accident in southwest Lubbock County.

Texas DPS says the accident occurred just after 3:20pm at the intersection of FM 179 and Woodrow Road (CR 7600). 53 year-old Patrick Lee Dorsett was driving a 2006 Toyota sedan southbound on FM 179. Dorsett disregarded the stop sign at the intersection with Woodrow Road and Dorsett lost control of his vehicle.

The car left the road on the right side of the street and rolled over in the drainage ditch.

Dorsett was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, but he died at the scene due to the injuries suffered in the accident.
