I love my coffee fresh and piping hot, so I have both a "home" and "office" Keurig, so my cup of joe is ready when I am. If you're like me and use K-cups, you should check your pantry (or desk drawer) to see if any of your cups are subject to a nationwide recall.

What K-Cup Products Are Affected by the Recall?

The recalled K Cup variety is New Mexico Pinon Coffee, Dark Blend, according to a press release issued by the company that manufactured the product.

This is a voluntary recall that affects no other varieties of the brand, and no illness or injuries have yet been reported.

Additionally, this recall only concerns K Cups with product number F03308 and UPC code: 812361033081. The lot code is 251749, and the "best buy" date is 05/08/2026.

Details of the Hazardous Manufacturing Defect

According to Real Simple, some of these K Cup lids were not properly sealed, meaning the food-safe dye could run off and contaminate your coffee.

This is a Class III recall, meaning that there will likely be no serious illness or injuries; however, it is better safe than sorry, and I know I don't want to drink hot lid dye in my coffee.

What to Do If You Purchased the Recalled K-Cups

According to the aforementioned press release, "Consumers that have purchased these products are asked to either throw away or return product with the codes listed above to their retailer for a refund."

If you have any questions or concerns, you can call New Mexico Pinon Coffee at 505.298.1964.
