One person was killed Monday morning (February 4th) in North Lubbock. The two-alarm fire broke out in the 100 block of East Stanford Street.

Lubbock Fire crews arrived at the scene at around 7:10 a.m. Monday morning. The home and garage were fully engulfed in flames, according to reports.

"The initial crew that was here noticed a lot of flames, a lot of smoke around the front of the house. Upon making entry around to the back to check on it, they did find the victim in the back," Lubbock Fire and Rescue's Kevin Ivy told EverythingLubbock.com.

The flames were contained to just the one house, but the surrounding homes had minor damage.

The name of the deceased individual has not yet been released, and there have been no other reports of additional injuries or fatalities.
