Legendary punk rock band Social Distortion rode Lubbock hard Thursday night (Oct. 9), rollicking through songs from their 30+ year career. The kicker? It was Mike Ness and company's first time playing the Hub City.
It was inevitable, Mike Ness meets Wes Ness(man). We're both Orange County boys and we've been on a collision course for quite a while. In advance of the show coming to Lubbock, Mike talked about all kinds of projects he has coming up.
I am all for a great cover song but in the world of music we live in the good ones do not out weigh the bad ones. I will let you be the judge on this cover of "Ring Of Fire" from Dragonforce.
If you're a fan of Social Distortion, get ready to head to San Antonio, it's the only Texas date on their expanded Fall tour. The band never really has been know for hitting every burg on the map (bummer, since we live in the burg), but having only one option to see them kind of sucks. Lucky for you if you don't live in Texas, we have the rest of the dates after the jump.
It should come as no surprise to anyone here that I listen to a lot of music, believe it or not I have been known to listen to country, rap, hip hop, and yes even boy bands... Granted I was in a car doing 80 with Woody and the girls so I didn't really have a way out.
