It was 25 years ago today that a plane crash took the life of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Although Austin was his home base, Vaughn was a frequent visitor to Lubbock. He, in fact, was scheduled to play The South Plains Fair before he died.
It's no secret that Stevie Ray Vaughn is a legend. It's also no secret that his band Double Trouble was rock solid too, which makes it no surprise that Austin City Limits inducted the group into the inaugural ACL Hall of Fame.
Alice In Chains performed a 5 song acoustic set at the MusiCares MAP Fund Benefit. They were there mostly because Jerry Cantrell received the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award at the event for his support of the MusiCares MAP Fund and his commitment to helping other addicts.
