Texas Rangers Investigate Officer-Involved Shooting in Seagraves
An officer-involved shooting in Seagraves has the Texas Rangers investigating. The shooting occurred Monday in Seagraves, Texas, roughly 63 miles southwest of Lubbock.
At around 7:30 p.m. in the area of 9th Street and Avenue J, a Seagraves police officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop. That’s when the driver sped away and led the officer on a brief chase.
At one point the suspect and the officer exchanged fire and both were injured. They were each taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. It was last reported that the officer was in serious condition while the condition of the suspect has not been reported.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says the Texas Rangers are now investigating.
