I believe some gratitude is always called for.

It's been a crazy year, right? It would be even crazier if we didn't have our friends. I do consider our listeners our friends for any number of reasons, but heck, what else do you call people you hang out, go to shows, and have drinks with? Sounds like friends to me.

I fell in love with radio when I was a teen. I liked it when I was a kid, but when I was a teen, I absolutely, positively needed it. Do you know how some people will tell a band 'your song saved my life'? For me, it was the radio, the whole package.

We're trying to be the same for you now, and that requires us to wear our hearts on our sleeves. If we were generic or watered down, then we wouldn't really be helping anybody. The times have forced us to pick a lane and stick with it. The lane that makes the most sense to us is the lane that has the best chance of keeping you feeling good and rockin' out.

It's crazy right now. Ordinarily, at this time I'd be locking down bands for our annual FMX Birthday Bash. But not only did we not get to celebrate our 39th birthday, but I would also say that the 40th is in jeopardy -- or it certainly won't be celebrated in January/February when we prefer.

That's OK. We can do it another time when all of our brothers and sisters are together. When we do it, it won't be for the 39th or 40th; it will be the one that celebrates ALL of the good times we've had together.

So this Thanksgiving, please take care of yourself and your family in whatever way you think is best. Thank you for rocking with us. Thank you for supporting our advertisers. Most of all, I'd like to thank all of you for sticking with me in the mornings after a very trying year.

Happy Thanksgiving from the entire FMX Family.
