The Rock Show recently tackled a variety of topics, starting with a playful complaint about the station's dwindling coffee supplies, humorously comparing it to societal collapse. The hosts noted that a lack of coffee cups for three days has turned their workspace into a primitive environment, likening it to “Lord of the Flies.” The levity continued as they discussed the escalating prices for NBA Finals tickets, with some reaching an astonishing $40,000, making a night out at the game an expensive endeavor.

In sports news, the Las Vegas Golden Knights kicked off the Stanley Cup playoffs with a victory, highlighting the intriguing idea of a successful hockey team thriving in the desert. The discussion then shifted to Major League Baseball, where it was revealed that only one team, the Texas Rangers, would not participate in Pride Nights for 2026, raising eyebrows about inclusivity in sports.

As a surprising fact, the hosts shared that ancient Roman gladiators were primarily vegetarian, which stands in stark contrast to the image of fierce warriors. It led to a humorous mental image of gladiators eating chickpea patties while preparing for battle.

In lighter segments, the show featured a “dumbass of the day,” spotlighting a Florida HOA president who faced charges after confronting a young cyclist. The elderly man allegedly pushed the child to the ground after being flipped off, asserting his authority as HOA president, before stealing the boy's bicycle as a means of identifying him. On the other hand, a 68-year-old woman called 911 multiple times because a bar refused to serve her a jello shot, illustrating the commitment some have to their party plans.

Such discussions illustrate the blend of humor and reality that characterizes The Rock Show, making it a staple for listeners looking for entertainment interspersed with current events.

[music] 94.5 FMX. Up there [music] on the horizon lies a vast and empty place. [music] It's the Rock Show's Field of F and it is barren. Well, we've been out of coffee cups here for 3 days. Yeah, three days. It's getting kind of bleak. It's [music] entropy. It's the breakdown of society. We've gone fullon Lord of the Flies here. Simon and Piggy are dead, and the rest of us, [music] we're just living on a prayer. I mean, it's been kind of rough, but not that rough. I find it immensely [music] funny that uh it's gotten this bad right when the corporate people are coming in. That is true. They're coming today, aren't they? You're about to see how you've been making us live down here on the bottom level. We got to make sure we show them that one ply toilet paper, dude. It's pure purgatory. One ply toilet paper. No coffee cups. My god. I'm about to sharpen one of these [music] table legs into a spear. Try to get us some lunch around here. Okay. All right. Absolutely terrible. It does kind of suck, but we're going to be okay. I think a lot of uh sports things going on right now. Uh tonight, game one of the NBA Finals. Um I I know you don't really care about that much. The Spurs are in it though. So, okay. That's a real team. Yeah, this they're from San Antonio. Uh, right there in Texas. Okay, cool. What I hear. All right. Get this. The get in price for uh game three on June 8th cuz you ain't [music] getting any tickets for uh anything before then over at MSG. How much? $4,200 a ticket. Oo. Up uh from [music] 1,700 2 weeks ago. That is a steep ticket. You want to go courtside? You want to sit next to uh Leonardo DiCaprio? How much is that going to run you? 40 grand. Whoa. Really? I thought maybe 10 grand. 40 [music] grand. 40 grand each. Oh my goodness. It says some prices are in six figures. Holy. And you know what? That's one more figure than five. That's true. Wow. Okay. The Las [music] Vegas Golden Knights beating the Carolina Hurricanes in game one of the Stanley Cup. I just [music] think it's crazy that one of the most successful hockey teams is in Las Vegas. I mean, the desert. Okay. I realize there is such a thing as indoors, man. Even in Las Vegas, come on. Well, I guess yeah, I don't know, man. As long as they got the indoor field, they're playing. Let's get on to baseball. 29 MLB parks are getting super gay for the 2026 [music] Pride Nights. Only one team refuses. That would be the Texas Rangers. Really? Yeah. I don't know. Oh, I don't like that. I don't like that, you know. I don't like that. That The Texas Rangers are homies, too. That sucks, dude. Okay. Oh, that just They're not homies. They're straight. They're not homies anymore. I'm just saying, man. Dang, that sucks. Well, let me uh let me put this through the perspective of a personal lens. I'm at a place in my growth personally where I feel like these kind of things are a bit performative. I mean they are but but they are still kind of necessary. Yeah, but it's like everybody did it but them. Oh, not a good look guys. I just want people to know that they are always welcome around me anytime. You know, you don't have to have a certain [music] hairstyle or or certain t-shirt or anything like that. Exactly. And at the other uh end of the spectrum, I wasn't going to see baseball anyways. Well, so what [laughter] what does it matter? All right, whatever. And lastly, this interesting fact right here, ancient Roman gladiators were mostly vegetarian. Oh, wow. They think about that. Big old muscles and stuff and they eating eggplant. You spent all day fighting Hannibal and you go inside and they give you a hamburger patty [music] made of chickpeas. Yeah. [laughter] Wouldn't aspire me to be a Spartan or anything like that. That's crazy. Yeah. I had no idea. And so the voices echo [music] across the desolate and unfertile plane, unheard, but unto themselves. This has been the Rock Show's field [music] of [ __ ] This is the Rock Show. Coming up in the dumbass of the day, an HOH power trip gone wild and a jello shot emergency. [music] You could give the other drivers the finger. Or you could just give them horns up. Each day, the Rock Show challenges two idiots to enter the ring of stupidity. But only one will leave with the title of the dumbass of the day. What do you got over there? A Florida HOA president is facing charges after cops say a confrontation with a 12-year-old on a bike went way too far. Okay. Deputies say 69-year-old Paul Holmes confronted the boy near a clubhouse after the kid flipped him off. Holmes allegedly walked over and pushed him to the ground while yelling, "Do you know who I am? I'm the president of the HOA." Oh no. Then he took the boy's bike, put it in his vehicle and drove away because he apparently wanted security to identify the child and his parents. He was arrested on, of course, child abuse charges cuz you can't just push kids, you know. Okay, you can't do that. I disagree with that last part. You can't push kids. Maybe you could push your own a little bit, but don't push somebody else's kid. 12-year-old flipped off a guy who's nearly 70 years old. Yeah. And he flipped out. Mhm. Okay. That's basically what happened. All right. Yep. Well, mine is is much more uh serious than that. Really? Florida woman called 911 because the bar refused to serve her a jello shot. That's awesome. She then called back three more times demanding help with the situation. [laughter] She said, "I need this rectified. I'm not getting my jello shot. Well, the cops did show up and they found out she had some weed and some pipes with her as well. So, there's that. Who will be proven to have a brain powered entirely by Dialup Internet? Well, on the FMX app, we've got a list of the top 10 most dangerous people in love, Texas. Oh, well, danger's my middle name. So, I'm certain that I'm on that list somewhere. I don't think you're on there. Is it not that kind of list? Uh, yeah, but no, you're you're not on there. Okay. Should I should I put you on there? No, I don't really want to be on there. Okay. I'm kind of lowkey these days. [laughter] So, all right. Oh, you got one of them comedy shows where you tell your little jokes about animals and whatnot? I do. There's one coming up on June 26th. What are you going to do there? Uh, well, it's going to be over at Monaggra and I'm going to be there with Daryl Felsburg, her buddy. So, it's going to be pretty funny and pretty dirty. So, he is a professional. How did you get on that bill? Uh, well, he happens to be a friend of mine. Look at you. Or maybe he couldn't find anyone else. Hey, can we have one night without the crazy thunder? It's interrupting my sleep pattern. I'm enjoying it. I love it. I do too. Except when it's, you know, after my bedtime. Like the other night was, I think, a lot worse thunderwise. But did this one wake you up, too? Yeah, there was a kack outside. Whack. No, a co-ack was quack. Okay. Like that. Go ahead and try saying it. You know, I tried. I know you really want to do it. Kak. See, there you go. I did pretty good. Isn't that fulfilling? Yeah, it was all right. Uh, Scott P got fired from 60 Minutes. Oh, no. Now, I don't want to get into the whole politics of the whole situation, but if you did not know it, Scott P was a Texas Tech graduate. Oh, really? So, that kind of that kind of sucks for us. Oh, a bummer. Yeah. So, that's terrible. Okay. And what's in the box is coming up. Oh, yeah. Let's go ahead and give that first clue. The first clue. Are you ready? Yeah. The first clue is that it's filled. [music] It's filled. That'll be about 7:50 this morning. All right. All right. So, we have that going on. And we do have some police scanner stuff as well. 125 [music] warrant [music] from the Walmart on Fourth in Frankfurt. A theft in progress. A male on an electric scooter in the grocery store. Uh-uh. I know those people are up to no good. I was about to say, what's he doing? Just just being there. Scooting and stealing. Scooting and stealing. Okay. Yep. Uh, the Planet Fitness had a disturbance. Uh-oh. Well, yeah. I walked in to look around at the place and they said, "Look at that man. He has two guns." Okay, that's what happened there. Wow. Wow. I'm not even going to give you anything for that. I don't know what happened here, but we had two [music] females fighting in front of an elementary school. Happened. It happened. I don't know if it was students, moms, or homeless people. I have no idea. Could be anything. I was not there for the actual investigation. I'm just giving you what was called into the LBK stand. That's a good one. For 49th and P, theft of a church. Uhoh, y'all. Jesus is watching extra there. I've never understood stealing from a church. Yeah, but there's a lot of churches that [music] steal just a little bit. Okay, you know what? You've got a point. [laughter] From the 4600 block of Avenue U, the Yes way, male locked in the bathroom and won't come out. Ah, in his defense, that's where they sell those alals burritos, and they can really work on your guts. [laughter] Oh, no. From the 1900 block of the Marshia Sharp Freeway at the McDonald's inside a Walmart, a male causing a disturbance. Now, let me ask, did he have a big floppy black hat and a striped shirt? Cuz if so, it could have been the Hamburglar. [laughter] Thank you, Wes. Thanks. And I just found this funny on the LBK scanner squad. Now, they're best when [music] they just reporting what's on there, but occasionally they will step out. Yeah. And they had somebody in there with a found wallet and they had a picture of a driver's [music] license with the guy's picture on it and said, and the rest was blacked out. It's like to [music] get your license back, you must verify the address on the driver's license. Yeah, I was like, hm, if only it had a picture on it and your face matched the picture. Why think for yourself when the Rock Show can do it for [music] you? This is good things, bad things. All right, Chrissy. You ever use mouthwash? Yes, I do. I just used some this morning. I don't believe that. I did. You want to smell my breath? Oh, no. It smells like a hay stack over there. Oh, shut up. A hay stack that some small rodent feed in. Not true. [music] I'm fresh as a daisy. What kind you use? Uh, actually it's the one that is good for cotton mouth. [laughter] It's like it helps lube your mouth up. Oh, that one. Yeah. Mouth lube 2000. It's really, really good. It's a good one. Listerine is introducing new intensity levels. Have you ever had Listerine and went and went, "That's pretty intense, dude. I even like the aniseptic one. That really tastes horrible. I like that one." Well, they got extra mild, mild, and intense. Intense. I think I'm going with intense if I can. I would always go with intense. I think the other ones will gather. I like to be extra fresh and zippy, but I just don't know that I like the smell of Listerine. You know, it's kind of like when you know, you know, I have this voice that must be protected at all costs. This American treasure, so I will frequently have like cough drops and I I know that I smell sick to other people because usually when somebody's got a cough drop, it's because they're hacking up green stuff, right? And you also can't help yourself around cough drops. So I imagine you're putting away like 20. It's the same thing with Listerine. It's like it's something you use to cover a drinking habit or something. You think? [laughter] I love having a I used to carry a bottle of Listerine in my car. Are you serious right now? I love that stuff. You're like 80 years old. You got to have fresh breath. Anyways, I guess it's a good thing. It's good. Good thing I saw this. I know very little details. I am personally excited, but apparently there is a Texas Elvis Festival in Waco. Wow. And they've got at least 15 Elvis's booked for this thing. Oh man, it's coming up two weeks shy of Christmas. So, I guess I'm getting what I want for Christmas. That sounds like a fun time. Can you just imagine 15 Elvises running around? That has got to be just fun. It's got to be a blast. I bet they serve his favorite sandwich and all that stuff. Oh, well, there you go. Yes, I'm down to clown. Good thing. Sounds like a fun time. All right, I got the top rock albums of the 80s from Ultimate Classic Rock. Okay. And we're actually affiliated with these fools, and I'm going to go down to the corporate office and just slap some cents into these people. All right. Um [music] Okay. I w I was born in '89, so this list is all you. Well, the list is called, let me say right here, the top 100 [music] rock albums of the 80s. Okay. Top 100 rock albums of the 80s. Here's the top five. Back in Black, AC/DC. Disintegration by The Cure. Okay. Appetite for Destruction. Guns and Roses. Graceand by Paul Simon. So, by Peter Gabriel. Are you thinking that's kind of lame sounding? Very lame sounding. I think that what it is is uh and I'm focusing on on The Cure, and I'm not really hating on this band, but name me one of the songs from The Cure's Disintegration album. I don't I couldn't, but you can name three or four from uh Appetite for Destruction. Yeah, I didn't think The Cure belonged on there, but again, I was born in '89, so I'm giving you the uh all this. And also in the top 20, they put Joy Division, and I'm like, well, this is a dumb alternative kid trying to prove his cred to to people. I like division, but Move Up, Born in the USA by Bruce Springsteen. If you were to name the definitive 80s album, that's the most 80s of all albums. Yeah. Joshua Tree by you two. [music] Still haven't found what I'm looking for with or without you. That's not on there. Well, that's at number seven. That should take the cures place. Mhm. Even the talking heads remain in light, which had, you know, uh, life during wartime. This ain't no party. This ain't no disco. That that should go up. You're calling BS on this list basically. Yeah, it's really kind of baloney, but the problem is is that it looks semiathentic. There's a lot of things on here that should be on here, but they kind of ruined the list with that number two choice. And again, good album and they influenced the whole scene. And for the record, the big hit on that was was Love Song, which you could sing no no part of right now, whatever, but it still does not belong at number two. on that list is a bad thing. Bad thing. Now you know the score. [music] This is good thing bad thing on a rock show. This is the rock show. Coming up in your smoking full. What's something you learned from a grandparent that still sticks with [music] you? Enjoy 60 minutes of backto back rock for your lunch today. This is the rock show's news dumb. A Massachusetts bazooka scare turned out to be a lot less explosive after police responded to a report of a man in camouflage carrying what looked like a weapon, only to discover it was actually a leaf blower. Officers tracked him down and confirmed he was just doing landscaping work, not preparing for battle. Police said that he still appreciated the call because it's always better to report something suspicious than ignore a potential danger. Oh yeah, cuz cops love it when you waste their time. [laughter] Looks like the only thing he was armed for was a little weapon of mass destruction. Mass destruction. [music] You just stepped into a big pile of news. Steam, this has been the Rock Show's news dump. [music] Don't worry, they're just sitting in until we can train two seals to do their job. It's the Rock Show [music] with Chrissy and Wes 94.5 FMX. When questions have to be answered, it's you to the rescue. This is the Rock Show's Smoking [music] Bowl. All right, Chrissy, I want to ask you out front. Is this going to be silly or sweet or a mix of the two? Uh, definitely a mix of the two. Okay. Yeah, I I think it's uh more on the silly side, but there's some heartwarming answers. Here you go. Our question is is what's something you learned from a grandparent that still sticks with you? You know, grandparents can be [music] bad examples, too. That is true. [laughter] Mine were pretty wholesome. Okay, then. What about yours? Uh, [laughter] they got down. Let's just say that. Did they get down? They got down. All right. My uh grandpa uh until he was until he died lived in Compton, California. Wow. He was a tough old bird. Straight up gangster. Tough old bird. Nice. Yeah. He did not care. He's like, I this is my house. This is what's happening. Y'all keep your foolishness outside these fences. Right. So, there you go. We get together with the Rock Show Road crew every Sunday to get the question started. You are welcome to join. Stephen, what's something you learned from a grandparent that still sticks with you? [music] It doesn't matter if you're driving or not. You pay attention while you're in the car. Okay, go ahead. Pay attention to all your surroundings and the road signs and everything like that. I like that. That's a good one. Cousin Ronnie, what's something you learned from a grandparent that still sticks with you? always have my weapons loaded but not not chambered. Exactly. Yeah. Why have a tool if you're not having it ready to use? And Stephanie, what's something you learn from a grandparent that still sticks with you? [music] Every once in a while I will say something that they used to say. Like my grandfather would go, "You're as handy as a pocket on a shirt." [laughter] And Jeremy, what's something you learned from a grandparent that still sticks with you? How to open any wide-mouthed jar. I can thank my daddy bud for it out loud every time I do it. Okay, there you go, Daddy Bud. This is the rock show. More of your wonderful answers for the smoking pole coming up about 8:05. But in 10 minutes, it's what's in the box. Chrissy, what is that first clue? It's filled. FMX has your [music] shot to see the Foo Fighters in the rock and roll capital of the world. [music] This is the big one. [music] My story today is about a 69year-old man named Paul Holmes. He is the HOA president in a fancy neighborhood in Florida. I couldn't live in one of those. Dude, me neither. No way. Never would happen. I'd get kicked out so fast. I'd have like a purple front door or something. They'd be like, "Absolutely not. Nah. No." So, anyway, this guy Paul Holmes, he's walking around the neighborhood and a 12-year-old boy on a bicycle flipped him off. Okay, that they are prone to do that. They are prone to do that, you [laughter] know. And maybe Paul was kind of a jerk. We don't know. But apparently, he just walked over to this kid and pushed him down to the ground and said, "Do you know who I am? I'm the president of the HOA. And then he stole the kid's bicycle, put it in the back of his car, and drove away. Yeah. So, apparently he wanted the security around the the place to identify the child and his parents. That's his reason for stealing the bike. But you're not allowed to just push uh kids you don't know to the ground. You can't push kids over. Nope. You can't do it. Okay. My plans for the weekend have been destroyed. Okay. Yeah. You've dashed them against the rocks. Don't push children. Okay. Gosh, dash them against the rocks. [laughter] Okay, so anyways, I got a Florida woman that had to call 911. 68 years old. You know, we have elder versus elder here. Oh, yeah, we do. Today, 68-year-old Diane Blotlock called 911 because the bar wouldn't serve her a jello shot. Yeah. Then she called back three more times cuz she was still mad about it. That's almost as bad as when people call the cops cuz they got fake drugs or something. Well, funny you should mention that because when the cops showed up, they found she had weed in two pipes with her. Stupid. And she didn't get her jello shot. Who will be revealed to have two brain cells fighting for third place. Find out your winner for the dumbass of the day today at 8:35 on The Rock Show. It's time for one unfortunate soul to pull the finger of destiny and be crowned the dumbass of the day on the Rock Show. My story today comes out of Florida where deputies say 69year-old Paul Holmes, an HOA president, confronted a boy near a clubhouse after the kid flipped him off. Apparently, uh Holmes pushed him to the ground and yelled in his face, "Do you know who I am? I'm the president of the HOA." which really doesn't mean much to a 12-year-old. He was probably like, "I'm so scared." You know, the kid was probably like, "Back off, Holmes." Probably what he was. You were holding on to that one, huh? No, I wasn't. Wow. No. Anyway, so after he pushed him to the ground, he jacked his bike, threw it in the back of his car, and drove away. So, apparently, you can't do that to kids. So, he got arrested on child abuse and petty theft charges. That's sad cuz there's a lot of kids that need pushing over. I'm not going to disagree with you. You know, you know, one of the dumbest things we used to do is uh make jello shots. Yeah, we were that committed. I remember I remember talking to friends. It's like, "Hey, you want to go out Friday night?" And they're like, "Oh, I got to stay home, make a 100 jello shots for a party." Right. They're just ridiculous. I love jello shots, though. They are so yummy. They are an invitation to vomit later. They Oh, dude, they're so good. I always eat too many. Well, I have a Florida elder, a 68-year-old woman who feels much the same as you. Yeah. She called 911 because the bar she was at refused to give her a jello shot. Oh, I mean that is kind of an emergency. Uh maybe a little bit cuz she called back three more times. Like I want one. And at that point, the cops said, "We better go see what's going on with this lady." And they found her with weed in a couple of pipes. Oh no. So, there's that. And the winner is it is me today. Okay then. Someone just earned a gold medal in the Olympic sport of bad [music] ideas. Join us weekday mornings for two all new dumbasses at 6:35 and 7:35 on the [music] Rock Show. Up there on [music] the horizon lies a vast and empty place. It's the Rock Show's [music] Field of F and it is barren. Well, we've been out of coffee cups here for three days. Yeah, three days. It's getting kind [music] of bleak. It's entropy. It's the breakdown of society. [laughter] We've gone fullon Lord of the Flies here. Simon and Piggy are dead, and the rest of us, we're just living on a prayer. I mean, it's been kind of rough, but not that rough. I find it immensely funny [music] that uh it's gotten this bad right when the corporate people are coming in. That is true. They're coming today, aren't they? You're about to see how you've been making us live down here on the bottom level. We got to make sure we show them that one ply toilet paper. Dude, it's pure purgatory. One ply toilet [music] paper. I thought maybe 10 grand. 40 grand. [music] 40 grand each. Oh my goodness. It says some prices are in six figures. [music] Holy. And you know what? That's one more figure than five. That's true. Wow. Okay. The Las Vegas Golden Knights [music] beating the Carolina Hurricanes in game one of the Stanley Cup. I just think it's crazy that [music] one of the most successful hockey teams is in Las Vegas. I mean, the desert. Okay. I realize there is such a thing as indoors, man. even in Las Vegas. I mean, they are, but but they are still kind of necessary. Yeah, but it's like everybody did it but them. Oh, not a good look, guys. I just want people to know that they are always welcome around me anytime. You know, you don't have to have a certain hairstyle [music] or or certain t-shirt or anything like that. Exactly. And at the other uh end of the spectrum, I wasn't going to see baseball anyways. Well, so what what does it matter? All right, whatever. And lastly, this interesting fact right here, ancient Roman gladiators were mostly vegetarian. Uh wow. What do you think about that? Big old muscles and stuff and they eating eggplant. You spent all day fighting Hannibal and you go inside and they give you a hamburger patty made of chickpeas. Yeah. [laughter] Wouldn't aspire me to be a Spartan or anything like that. That's crazy. Yeah. I had no idea. And so the voices [music] echo across the desolate and unfertile plane, unheard but unto themselves. [music] This has been the rock show's field of thoughts.
