Wolfforth’s 4th On The 5th Promises A Bigger And Better Independence Day Party
Moving more south and west in Lubbock has exposed me to a community I am really falling in love with- the Wolfforth community. It's so close I can get there in a matter of minutes, and although it's not Lubbock per se, it certainly has some of the "best" of our West Texas vibes.
And Wolfforth doesn't try to be Lubbock. They do their own things, like hosting a huge farmer's market every Saturday and the 4th on the 5th celebration, which promises to be even bigger and better this year.
What Is The 4th On The 5th Celebration in Wolfforth?
4th on the 5th is a 4th of July celebration that happens in Wolfforth, the day after the 4th of July, presumably to not compete with 4th on Broadway or other Independence Day events. This year, the 5th falls on a Saturday for premium party times.

The event begins at 7 p.m.
The event has vendors and food, live music, fireworks, and a surprise show. I am intrigued and enticed by that last bit of information. What could it be? Acrobats? Dancing Monkeys? Metallica? Probably not Metallica.
What Do I Need To Bring To 4th on The 5th?
According to the city of Wolfforth's website: Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and enthusiasm as we come together to honor our nation's birthday in style.

Note: They ask that you do NOT bring pets to this event. And, c'mon, dogs hate fireworks.
How Will 4th on the 5th Be Different This Year?
To accommodate the growing crowds, the event has moved to the Peoples Bank Stadium, and they have promised more Porta Potties this year.
Whatever you decide to do this year for the 4th, I hope you have a great one. Happy Birthday, America!
