Harriet Tubman will replace Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill. I can't imagine anything less controversial, but of course there are racists losing their minds over it.

Harriet Tubman was an anti-slavery advocate and leader of what became known as The Underground Railroad. You can click through to Wikipedia if you want to know more.

The fact is, there are tons of heroes of all colors from our history who should be honored. It would be my hope that after a time, Tubman would be replaced by someone else who's earned their place in history. In case you don't know, the original $20 had Grover Cleveland on the front.

(As an aside: It would be cool if we could print twenties the same way we do quarters. The problem is, having many different images on bills could really screw up anti-counterfeiting efforts.)

So, there are dissenting voices out there. Some claim putting Tubman on the twenty is strictly "a PC move." That is really an asinine statement because it wasn't about removing Jackson altogether, but about redesigning the bill. (Jackson will now be on the back of the bill.)

There just is no end to the idiocy out there. To those folks, I'll say this: Use a debit card.

I personally spend NO TIME gazing at my money, so at the end of the day it really doesn't matter. What matters is that a lot of kids will be hearing the name Harriet Tubman over the next couple weeks. I hope they learn the positive lessons about bravery and courage that Harriet Tubman taught instead of the a--holery of their parents who have a problem with this.

By the way, these changes will not take effect until 2020. We may all be using space money by that time.
