How Media Outlets Are Making Themselves Obsolete

I've noticed some media sites now say that their content may not be "rewritten, broadcast, redistributed, etc...." This is EXACTLY how they will eventually put themselves out of business. Okay, we're going buck-ass wild on this one after the break!

Hey media jackasses!  It's 2011!  There's this thing called the internet.  The problem isn't if people are talking about you, the problem is when people STOP talking about you.  If I say to someone "did you see what "X" said"?  It immediately makes you wonder about "X" and a lot of people will go there.  The problem with traditional media (newspapers, t.v.) is they're still playing by old rules.  The fact of the matter is the cat is already out of the bag, if you've got news, information or whatever we want-we'll get it.  I'm not talking about our radio station either, I'm talking about the average Joe.  You aren't going to "force" us to go to your site, you aren't going to get us to pay a subscription, you have to find a way to play by the new rules or you're going boobs up! You  NEED bloggers talking about your stuff so that people will check it out.  If you put a stranglehold on your information, we won't talk about you, we'll talk about the OTHER guys.

Okay, I just had to get that little bit out there.  You other guys go ahead and put yourself out of business....it just means more for me later!
