Jeff Gordon Added As 13th Chase Competitor

Disappointment loomed for the fans of the #24 Drive To End Hunger Chevy, but the powers that be for NASCAR have decided to let Gordon compete in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

After what Gordon accurately calls a "rollercoaster" of a week ensued, we have 13 drivers in the Chase; those drivers are: Matt Kenseth, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards, Joey Logano, Greg Biffle, Clint Bowyer, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kurt Busch, Kasey Kahne, Ryan Newman, and now Jeff Gordon.

Now, more than ever, another level of importance is placed on this weekend's race at Chicagoland. Joey Logano has the pole, alongside Brad Keselowski, as six other championship competing drivers have a starting spot in the top 10.

Seems Friday the 13th turned out to be lucky for the 13th entrant to the Chase.
