With his first win of the season and his eighth at Martinsville, Jeff Gordon took a huge leap up to third in the points standings for the Sprint Cup, as Jimmie Johnson and Matt Kenseth now sit tied at first.

As we slide on down to Texas next weekend, the Chase hasn't been better this season, which means it'll only get better. Three races remain, including the aforementioned Texas race, Phoenix, and the finale at Homestead-Miami.

Today, a few Chase contenders had a decent, with, of course, some other contenders finding trouble on the Paperclip. Matt Kenseth succumbed to the 24's experience and took the runner-up spot, while Clint Bowyer and Jimmie Johnson battled for third and fourth up to the final lap, when Keselowski took fourth from JJ. Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahne, and Greg Biffle all had top ten finishes as well. Carl Edwards, Martin Truex Jr., Joey Logano, and the brothers Busch all finished past the top ten.

Dallas will be electric on Sunday, so tune in and see what the Asphalt Circus holds.
