Matt Kenseth Uses Gas Mileage To Win Second Chase Race
New Hampshire isn't necessarily known for hosting chess matches of gas mileage, being a speedy one-mile circuit, but Sunday that was the storyline, as Kevin Harvick ran out of gas after proving dominance all day and Kenseth pounced on a win.
Make it five wins on the year for Kenseth, plus an automatic bid to the second round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
Kevin Harvick was supposed to have a rebound week, and was doing so mightily when a shortage of fuel ultimately caused his demise. His odds into gaining a spot in the Chase's second round are now slimmer than ever.
Denny Hamlin, who won last week, earned the runner-up spot, while red-hot Joey Logano took bronze, Greg Biffle wound up fourth, and Carl Edwards finished fifth.
Next week, it's elimination for four drivers in Delaware.
