Steve Perry Declines Invitation to Visit Journey [VIDEO]

A few summers ago Woody and the girls were headed to the Dallas area for a mama daughter weekend when I got a video from her. I was really excited thinking "oh yeah mama misses her daddy already!" Imagine my surprise when I opened it and it was a video of the girls (then 10, 11, and 13) singing along to "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey.

While not the video I was hoping for it was pretty cool to see the girls jamming out and singing at the top of their lungs to a classic band like Journey!

Love 'em or hate"em you have to admit that Journey is a band that has with stood the test of time, their music is timeless and has inspired many, many great artists we all listen to today... Anyone want to guess what member of Static X told me in an interview once that Journey is his all time favorite band?

I don't know how many of you have seen or heard any of their recent stuff (post Steve Perry) but their new lead singer looks a HELL A LOT and sounds A HELL A LOT like Steve Perry. While they have not had nearly the fame they had in the past they do still put on a great show where they do all of their original hits.

Now they are putting out another greatest hits album and have extended and invitation to Steve Perry to come visit them anytime.

Perry has declined the invitation and said that while that was a great time in his life and how he enjoyed the experience that he respectfully declined the invitation.

He did hint that he might be recording an album of his own soon though.
