One thing that makes Nightmare so much fun, is not just the actors, but it is watching the people run from the actors! Here is a sample of the photos taken Oct. 13, 2012. Lubbock Texas is extremely lucky to have the State's Largest Haunted Theme Park right in it's backyard. Nightmare On 19th Street offers hours of screams and entertainment each night that it is open. Each year it grows larger and better. As you can imagine, the park does not run itself, but instead requires 100 to 150 people a night to keep things running smoothly. (More following the jump.)
It was a dark and stormy night, no really; it's dark and there are storms all over West Texas, and we decided it was a perfect night to check out Nightmare on 19th. As we got out of the car and walked toward the gate we could hear the the sounds of the certifiably insane combined with spine tingling, blood curdling screams coming from every direction. My " was that rain? maybe we should come back another night" didn't work, so I tried another approach...

The fallout from the art walk fiasco continues. Evidently some of the art community think they should decide what is art and what and who should be allowed on city streets, on city buses and even, on occasion, in city buildings. We'd like to add a little more to the story. More after the jump.
From time to time, Woody and I stray from our regular path to take in different sights from around town. So, yesterday morning when we noticed it was the first Friday of September we decided to take in the sights of the First Friday Art Trail.
Nightmare on 19th Street has become a Lubbock staple for everything that is Halloween, haunted amusement parks and horror. Blood curdling screams come from inside the attractions year in and year out. This year though promises to be the biggest as Nightmare returns in grand fashion.
TRUE STORY (Lubbock Texas) When Clowns Attack... Halloween night at Nightmare On 19th Street this year had to be the most fun... dangerous to date. Years ago, when Clown Town was closed down and destroyed under questionable circumstances, all the evil spirits trapped in clown bodies had no where to go and quickly grew more and more restless. They began gathering together and danced under the stars until, in a hypnotic frenzy, they would burst out into the night, finding others to join the dance. When the dancers started disappearing, the authorities gathered up the Clowns and committed them indefinitely to The Sanitarium. That is, until Halloween night... (Jump ahead if ya dare!)
This year had to be the most fun ever. With BlindFold Charlie entertaining the crowd for the second time this year, more visitors than ever dressing up in costumes, cool weather, short lines and more clowns than you could shake a stick at ,you could not have asked for a better Halloween party! Great food and new T-shirts were also available
A lot of time and effort goes into getting ready for Nightmare On 19th Street each night. It takes hours each night to get the multitude of actors ready before curtain call.
