Well, it's here. Unless something drastic happens, it looks like Texas will turn its back on the most helpless among us.

I've blogged on this before, and unfortunately it looks like a lot of peoples worse fears are being realized. According to The Texas Tribune, funding will be cut that will severely reduce the money that goes to therapists that treat kids with disabilities. Texas is basically The Grinch right before Christmas.

This is bad for the disabled, bad for therapists and bad for Texas.

All of this is part of a $350 million dollar cut to Medicaid. It's going to hurt the poor and the elderly, but the cuts that are making their may down to the disable are particularly heartless and cruel.

I'm sorry my friends, but this is disgusting, and if you support it, you are, too. I can't speak any more plainly than this. Not only will we be judged by how we treat the weakest among us, but all we're doing is kicking the can down the road. Some of these kids could have been taught life skills that would save the state of Texas money later.

I truly don't believe most Texans want these kinds of cuts. We all want lower taxes and smaller government, yes all of us, but if there is one thing that should be sacred, it should be funds to help the disabled integrate into society.

This goes into effect December 15.
