A long time ago we did the "Three Amigos" tour on FMX.  We went around to all of the area small towns passing along prizes and shaking hands. We started something bad.

At some point t.v. picked up our cue and started broadcasting from small towns. They bring the community out and coach them to scream on cue.  I guess it makes the anchors feel like rock stars or something, but it is simply the worst example of community coverage possible. It's just a bunch of people yelling and so far the sound techs haven't found a way to keep the audio from getting all spattery and distorted. They DO occasionally do a story about something IN the community which if of interest, but I no longer watch while the anchors are 'on the road'.  It's just awful.

Back in the day Karla Leslie worked for Channel 11.  At that time she did stories from all of the area towns.  It was kind of like "Texas Country Reporter" but just for our area.  That is how you do this kind of thing right.  We used to get great stories about different areas and colorful characters all the time, now we get a bunch of yelling and maybe a little story they threw together that afternoon.

It's my job to scan all t.v. stations.  Fortunately for me, there's one I don't have to watch this week.
