It was one hell of a game but more importantly one of the best College World Series bouts I've seen in quite a while. Congrats to Vanderbilt for walking out of Omaha with college baseball's most prestigious accolade.

Vanderbilt used a nine-run third inning in the first game of the series to throw the first punch but Virginia responded and evened up the series in Game 2.

That meant we'd have a sudden death, winner take all Game 3, and it certainly didn't disappoint.

In classic fashion, it came down to the last inning, as Vanderbilt had a lead to hold in the bottom of the ninth, up 3-2. The defense for the Commodores held and the black and gold had their first championship title in school history.

Until next year, college baseball fans...
