So there's this guy, Martin Shkreli. He's a former hedge fund manager who formed a pharmaceutical company. He then took a pill that was going for $13.50 per tablet and jacked up the price to $750 per tablet. That was his first mistake. His second mistake was putting his douche-y face on TV.

Anyways, this drug, Daraprim, is for life-threatening parasitic infections (i.e. you can't afford it, you die). This guy even went on TV and said that even after he raised the price by more than 5,000 percent, the drug was still "underpriced."

I guess if it saves your life it's worth all you have. But since it costs the company about a dollar to make, you're just being a sociopath by overcharging for it. Then again, because democracy, that's why.

I have been asked repeatedly to comment on this guy. I just haven't bothered because this is a case where pretty much everybody in the entire world has the same opinion of the guy, so my voice is really kind of not necessary.

I have buckled to pressure though, and made a video. Watch for the bad language in the above video.

Update: Shkreli has buckled to public pressure and said he will reduce the price of the drug so his company only makes "a very small profit." But he's still a dick.
