How do free samples, a sale, dad jokes and helping a good cause sound?

Well, this is your chance to do just that on Saturday right here in Lubbock. There will be a big cookoff with yours truly, Kelsee Pitman, as a judge, along with free samples, an indoor sidewalk sale and lots of Father's day gifts.

But the best part, all proceeds go to Family Promise of Lubbock. This nonprofit was established in 1998 and helps homeless families with children. You can learn more about them on their official website.

They're calling this a "casual barbecue cook-off for the average dad with a bit of a Mukewater twist." So get your barbeque and dad jokes ready.

If you want to enter the competition it will cost you $30 and offer prizes for the judges' selection in three categories; ribs, brisket, and side dishes. They will also be giving away prizes for people's choice. That means if you want to come out on Saturday you will have a chance to try the food and vote for yourselves. How cool is that?

So get all your buddies to come out and make sure you wear your best dad outfit and have a cool setup because there will be prizes for that and so much more.

I can't wait to see y'all there and try some yummy food. Keep scrolling down to see the schedule. This is all happening at KK's Corner Mall located at 66th and Indiana Avenue. The event will be on Saturday, June 11th, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
