It's a classic comedy bit. A robber or wise guy tells the two cops "hey look over there" and when they look he runs away. That's what people are doing by blaming 'the media' for coverage of things they don't like.

I actually dealt with this on our Facebook page yesterday. The person wanted to call us out for "only posting negative news about Christians". This is challenge that I am well up for.  #1. Maybe, just maybe you should be mad at the people who give your religion a bad name and #2. I offered to blog up any positive news they could give me about the situation.

Now let's back up a bit. My blog was about an awful pastor's reaction towards the Orlando shootings (he said he was praying for the survivors to die). So, my offer is for some one to send me a blog about something positive your church did for the Orlando victims.  I have a feeling I'll be waiting here for a long time.

Then there's the other part of this equation and that for the most part you guys don't really talk about or click on good news. Now, I don't go out of my way to find the negative, in fact my feed is FULL of stories about how we need to come together as a community; it's just those blogs are largely ignored.

It's time for everyone to sack up. The media doesn't create problems, it reports problems. Deal with the problems so we have only good news to report.
