There is an effort underway, or at least talks about abolishing Daylight Saving Time in Texas.  I'm going to have to go on the side of ditching this antiquated process.

I think the meme about pretty much explains it all. It just doesn't seem necessary to flip the clocks to line up with people's activities, it should be the other way around. For instance one of the reasons people give for keeping Daylight Savings Time is that they don't think kids should have to wait at bus stops for school in the dark.  Well, I don't they think should either, but I think it's far more logical for the school to change their starting time during that time of year, rather than everyone flipping their clocks ahead and pretending its some other time.

The lawmaker who proposed this said it certainly isn't high priority and I agree.  Heck, if nothing else, maybe some folks actually use the fall forward/fall back as a reminder to check their smoke alarms or other tasks. It just seems to me that the whole thing is the product of a bygone era that we no longer need.
